Monday Nights in #Vegas, THE place to be! 2 Years of Standing Room Only last week 2 sets of TV producers!
That’s right, the secret is out. Who knew that last Monday night would end with even more notoriety. The Vegas Underground is attracting attention around the country, and around the world. Yes, last week TV production crews from LA and Dallas flew in to catch the show, and they had a ball!
Why not, it’s music and comedy in the Classic Vegas style that MADE Las Vegas ‘The Entertainment Capital of the World’. Our Tap House regulars have known it all along, and it’s why they’ve packed the room week after week.
We’ve become known as ‘The Rat Pack of the Next Generation’. Entertainers performing for other entertainers, introducing new talents in town, impressionists, visiting entertainers, and celebrities that drop in. You never know who will show up or what will happen…. unless you’re there!
Others have tried to imitate our style, and while it’s just not quite the same, it makes us proud that we’ve brought so much attention to live performance in Las Vegas. That was our goal.
BUT, there’s only one, and the only, the original…

Due to a serious conflict The #Vegas Underground WILL NOT perform at the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay for May’s Third Thursday.
After heated discussions with Foundation Room director Steve Hart, and even with numerous Foundation Room members requesting our return, Steve has now cancelled the Third Thursday music event for June, as well.
There were several conflicts involved that caused this, but for the major one of them all, LJ accepts the responsibility. With his busy schedule of work, community, and charity events, he inadvertently forgot to reorder his special stage-use hair gel. He was left with just enough to honor his previously scheduled playing commitments.
As you can see from the photo above, LJ once attempted to take the stage without this gel while performing in his typical wild-man style, and had disastrous results.
So as simple as that, no perfect hair, no show.
For the Good news… All is not lost! Of course you can get The Vegas Underground ‘fix’ Monday nights at the Tap House on W. Charleston… that will have to tide you over for now.
As for the Foundation Room, while it saddens us all, we will not be returning there… UNTIL THE FOURTH THURSDAY IN JUNE !
That’s right, WE WILL BE BACK AT THE FOUNDATION ROOM TO ROCK THE FOUNDATION, Thursday JUNE 27, 2013!

Live late night twice a month performances with 18-piece band
will help support student musicians as part of Stratosphere partnership
May 8, 2013 – Las Vegas, NV – Trumpeter, conductor and composer David Perrico and his band Pop Evolution have a new home at Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower, further establishing Stratosphere Theater as the place for live vintage Vegas-style original entertainment with a modern vibe.
Featuring an impressive 18-piece band with an assortment of horns, guitars and strings,David Perrico Pop Evolution transforms popular songs from all genres by infusing them with big band sound and the vitality that can only come from a stage packed with professional musicians. Strong female vocals by Naomi Mauro & Savannah Smith paired with the power of Perrico’s trumpet produce a one-of-a-kind sound and experience.
“Our show is different every night. We thrive off the energy of the audience while switching up different songs, styles and original arrangements,” said Perrico. “It is exciting to see an iconic property like Stratosphere embrace and support live music and musicians.”
David Perrico Pop Evolution will appear every first and third Tuesday of the monthat 10:30 p.m. at Stratosphere Theater, starting Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Doors open at 10 p.m. Tickets are $20, plus tax and can be purchased at Stratosphere Ticketing, online at StratosphereHotel.com or 800-99-TOWER (998-6937).
As part of Stratosphere’s ongoing commitment to the community and education,half of all proceeds at the door will be donated to the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, a magnet public high school in the Clark County School District dedicated to the performing and visual arts.
“We cannot be more thankful for this growing partnership with Stratosphere,” said Scott Walker, Las Vegas Academy of the Arts Principal. “This support is not only financial. Stratosphere’s talented entertainment team is also donating their time and expertise with the goal of helping our students achieve.”
Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno has taught several “Master Classes” at Las Vegas Academy, giving students an inside perspective into the music industry and helping with song writing and performance skills. Perrico, and cast and crew from Stratosphere’s PIN UP starring Claire Sinclair will also be working with students in the coming school year.
“We are proud to support the education of up-and-coming talent while offering guests and locals one more show featuring the kind of entertainment Vegas was built on,” added Matthew Mascali, Vice President of Food, Beverage and Entertainment at Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. “With its intimate horseshoe shaped booths and recent renovations, Stratosphere Theater is the perfect venue for this kind of live musical entertainment.”
David Perrico is one of Las Vegas’ most in-demand musicians, with the Las Vegas Review Journal recently naming Dave Perrico Pop Evolution “Best of Las Vegas 2013” for Lounge Performer or Tribute Act. In addition to leading Pop Evolution, Perrico currently serves as music director/trumpet for Stratosphere’s PIN UP, starring Claire Sinclair. He has performed internationally with the legendary Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and has been featured in headliner shows including Donny & Marie, Natalie Cole, Toni Braxton, Cirque du Soleil, Gladys Knight, and Zowie Bowie. As a composer, Perrico has received national awards for original jazz and symphony orchestra compositions and was recently featured in the Vegas PBS series “artScene”. Perrico also serves as an adjunct faculty member for UNLV’s jazz studies program. He has 11 CDs and four DVD recordings to his credit, including The Family Guy Live DVD and the Grammy award-winning album One Voice by Gladys Knight.

Congrats to one of our own, award winning David Perrico and his Pop Evolution band as they begin their new headline show at Stratosphere Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Singer, songwriter, and musician Spencer Day brings his talents to the Foundation Room for April’s Third Thursday Music Series. He will be performing songs from his recently released 4th CD, ‘The Mystery of You’.
A veteran of the music industry, Spencer’s modern jazz sound has been featured on Star Search, and his award winning title track from his ‘Movie of your Life’ CD was used for the debut of Dolby Laboratory’s global launch of the Dolby 7.1 sound system. Now you have the opportunity to see him perform live in the intimate surroundings of this exclusive Las Vegas venue. It’s a personal experience you’ll never forget, as you’re sure to be seeing more of this music star in the future.
You can catch a preview of this talented performer when he appears Thursday morning on KTNV ABC 13 Las Vegas for the Morning Blend, where The Vegas Underground’s LJ Harness will also be appearing for the upcoming Champagne & High Tea NV SPCA benefit at Spanish Trails. Also on this show, the man in the know about Las Vegas entertainment, Norm Clarke.
An added bonus to this Third Thursday, is the amazing Peter Love, who will open the show. His music has been heard at the top clubs of LA and also so many of the resorts of Las Vegas. You may also recognize Peter from his acting career, as he’s starred on TV’s Ryan’s Hope and Santa Barbara.
This special evening of Las Vegas live entertainment at the Foundation Room is open to guests and non-members, and admission is complimentary. A delicious variety of appetizers will be available for $10, as well as Skyy cocktails for $8.

Ricco Diamante is the featured entertainer for the 2nd anniversary party of Eagle-One Entertainment. It all takes place April 6, 2013 at the Cabo Lounge in Fiesta Rancho Hotel & Casino.
From 8:30PM to 12:30AM Ricco will have the crowd out of their seats and on the dance floor, with his high energy show and ‘Old School Dance Band’. It’s no surprise to us at The Vegas Underground that Ricco is a double BMA award winner, as he’s jammed with us everywhere from the Tap House to The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay and always has the room jumpin’.

The Story of Classic Rock, performed live by Real Classic Rockers opens Saturday at LVH Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Our own Classic Rocker Paul Shortino of Quiet Riot is among this group of greats that includes Howard Leese [Guitar] (Heart, Bad Company), Tracii Guns [Guitar] (LA Guns, Guns n’ Roses), Robin McAuley [Lead Vocals] (MSG, Survivor), John Payne [Lead Vocals and Bass] (Asia), Paul Shortino [Vocals] (Rough Cutt, Quite Riot), Jay Schellen [Drums] (Hurricane, Asia), Andrew Freeman [Lead Vocals and Guitars] (Lynch Mob, The Offspring), and Michael T. Ross [Keyboards] (Lita Ford, Hardline, Angel). Plus there will be special guest appearances from members of other rock bands!
This is more than a concert, as the show follows the evolution of Rock Music by showing imagery of what was happening at the period in time when individual songs were made. Rock songs hold a hidden time capsule of our society through Rock’s radical beginnings in the 50’s to it being the standard of a generation into the 90’s.
This a live band that includes many of the Classic Rockers that made the great songs we all listened to as we grew up, and still do today. We wish Paul and all the cast great success with their new Las Vegas resident show at LVH!

David Perrico @PopEvolution3 opens with Pin Up & Claire Sinclair tonight @LVStratosphere #Vegas #PinUp
Master musician, composer, conductor, and one of our own in The Vegas Underground, provides the awesome ‘Classic Vegas’ orchestra sound for the new show ‘Pin Up’ with the beautiful Claire Sinclair. They are opening tonight, March 2, at Stratosphere Hotel & Casino on the Vegas Strip. The show will run Thursdays - Monday at 10:30 PM.
With his Pop Evolution Orchestra, David appeared with us as the musical director for the Las Vegas Toys for Tots celebrity benefit show, as he’s pictured above on the Red Carpet. He and members of his band also joined with us for the recent packed house debut of ‘Rock the Foundation’ in the exclusive House of Blues Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay.
Of course you could have also seen them at The Lounge at Palms, or any number of shows on the Strip. Even ‘As Seen on TV’, as David was recently featured on PBS for a television special.
Our ‘Secret Society of a City Built on Live Entertainment’ has also become known as ‘The Rat Pack of the Next Generation’, and we support our own and live entertainment in Las Vegas. So we wish David and the band much success with this new show, and lets all check it out and help him spread the word!

After a meeting yesterday The #Vegas Underground has been REMOVED from the Foundation Room Lounge! Blame goes to everyone involved, from the performers to the audience!
Both LJ and Sparky attended the meeting last night hoping to resolve any issues, but there was no further discussion as far as Foundation Room manager Steve Hart was concerned.
The Vegas Underground WILL NOT return to the lounge next month.
Instead of appearing in the Foundation Room Lounge on March 21, we WILL BE appearing in the larger and reconfigured Foundation Room Dining Room, to the right as you come from the elevators!
The space both inside and on the patio will be changed to give us more room, better visibility, more seating and hi-top tables. It appears that while the stage will be able to be seen from the patio, both sound and projected video will be available outside.
So to all the entertainers and fans of our first The Vegas Underground ROCKS THE FOUNDATION, THE BLAME for this move falls on you!
ALL the performers were absolutely incredible, and the buzz is all over town!
To all our fans, and our new ones among all the Foundation Room members who came out, thanks to you for packing the house!
Plus a big thanks to Nicolas and Alice Cage for coming out to support live entertainment in Las Vegas!
