Monday Nights in #Vegas, THE place to be! 2 Years of Standing Room Only last week 2 sets of TV producers!

That’s right, the secret is out. Who knew that last Monday night would end with even more notoriety. The Vegas Underground is attracting attention around the country, and around the world. Yes, last week TV production crews from LA and Dallas flew in to catch the show, and they had a ball!

Why not, it’s music and comedy in the Classic Vegas style that MADE Las Vegas ‘The Entertainment Capital of the World’. Our Tap House regulars have known it all along, and it’s why they’ve packed the room week after week.

We’ve become known as ‘The Rat Pack of the Next Generation’. Entertainers performing for other entertainers, introducing new talents in town, impressionists, visiting entertainers, and celebrities that drop in. You never know who will show up or what will happen…. unless you’re there!

Others have tried to imitate our style, and while it’s just not quite the same, it makes us proud that we’ve brought so much attention to live performance in Las Vegas. That was our goal.

BUT, there’s only one, and the only, the original…

Due to a serious conflict The #Vegas Underground WILL NOT perform at the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay for May’s Third Thursday.

After heated discussions with Foundation Room director Steve Hart, and even with numerous Foundation Room members requesting our return, Steve has now cancelled the Third Thursday music event for June, as well.

There were several conflicts involved that caused this, but for the major one of them all, LJ accepts the responsibility. With his busy schedule of work, community, and charity events, he inadvertently forgot to reorder his special stage-use hair gel. He was left with just enough to honor his previously scheduled playing commitments.

As you can see from the photo above, LJ once attempted to take the stage without this gel while performing in his typical wild-man style, and had disastrous results.

So as simple as that, no perfect hair, no show.

For the Good news… All is not lost! Of course you can get The Vegas Underground ‘fix’ Monday nights at the Tap House on W. Charleston… that will have to tide you over for now.

As for the Foundation Room, while it saddens us all, we will not be returning there… UNTIL THE FOURTH THURSDAY IN JUNE !

That’s right, WE WILL BE BACK AT THE FOUNDATION ROOM TO ROCK THE FOUNDATION, Thursday JUNE 27, 2013!

Share this post with your friends and let them know we’ll be back!

Stay Tuned for More Details!

It’s a #Vegas Secret, where Entertainers & Celebrities Party! ‘Rock The Foundation’ has moved to a new location.

We outgrew the Foundation Room lounge at Mandalay Bay before we started our first show, so we’re moving to the larger Dining Room for our March 21, 2013 Third Thursday event, from 7 - 10 PM. As you can see from these pictures, the crowd was wall to wall. Steve Hart of the Foundation Room knew we needed more space, seating, high-top tables, added bar service and a stage riser, so he and his staff are ready to accommodate. Plus having the stage in this room makes it visible from the patio with the awesome Vegas Strip view! Inside or out, you’ll be part of the action, and once again, admission is complimentary, as space allows.

Last month we really Rocked The Foundation, with a great lineup of outstanding performers! This month we’ll do it again with some familiar faces and some new. That’s what The Vegas Underground is all about, bringing back the Magic that made Vegas ‘The Entertainment Capital of the World’. When a Vegas Strip Marquee would headline Dean Martin…and underneath it “Maybe Frank, Maybe Sammy”. You didn’t know who would show up on stage or just join the party. It is entertainers performing for, and with, other entertainers, just having fun together, and the audience becomes part of it all! It’s why our Secret Society Members have become known as ‘The Rat Pack of the Next Generation’.

Of course this isn’t a tribute show, but the real deal entertainers of today’s Las Vegas, and the music of that next era. You’ll hear anything from Classic Rock, R&B and Soul, and everything in between. You may even see some Hollywood types in the crowd, just as they did in the showrooms that grew Las Vegas. At our first show, Nicolas Cage and his lovely wife Alice were there to support our unique brand of live entertainment in Las Vegas. For this show, well you just never know who will be there…unless you join us!
These are just a few of the entertainers scheduled to appear, but when The Vegas Underground comes out to jam, there can always be Surprise Guests joining in the fun!

Ricco Diamante - ‘The Las Vegas Showman’ puts out high energy ‘old school R&B’ that wows the crowds. For that, Ricco received not one but two 2012 BMA Awards, both Entertainer of the Year and Best Performance in a Lounge.

David Perrico - Composer, Arranger, Director, Musician , and recently featured on PBS, his Pop3 Evolution band continues to be the backbone for so many Las Vegas shows and the new Pin Up at Stratosphere.

Elisa Furr - Adding a little more ‘eye candy’ to the night, this songwriter and producer can really sing! It’s no surprise that she’s a lead vocalist with ICandy Burlesque at Planet Hollywood’s V Theater.

Jason Ebs - Multi-talented actor & performer was the lead singer & guitarist for Peter Criss on the ‘Bad Boys of Kiss’ tours w/Ace Frehley’s band. He also played guitar with Terri Nunn’s BERLIN & is a guest counselor at Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp here in Las Vegas. His original band ECOTONIC just released their new cd “Sound Bites” on itunes & features his wife Janea Ebs and former AC/DC drummer legend Chris Slade.

Paul Shortino - Lead for Quiet Riot, Rough Cutt, King Kobra, and more, and ‘Duke Fame’ from the cult classic Spinal Tap. You can catch Paul with all the Classic Rockers at their MUST SEE hit show ‘Raiding the Rock Vault’ at LVH Hotel, Las Vegas.

Marc Love - A singer and musician that has played clubs all over town and across the country. Marc has a rich, powerful voice that will remind you of David Clayton Thomas of Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Lisa Gay & Tony Drake - These Classic Souls & Jazz artists with their ‘Gentlemen of Thrill’ band is celebrating their 1 year anniversary of their acclaimed ‘Friday Night Soul Live’ at Alexis Park Resort. Lisa and Tony have deep roots in the music industry, touring and performing with the greats, and Tony’s guitar heard on their albums, as well as TV & movies. On this night we’ll also be celebrating Lisa birthday!

Kevin Gardner Rose - Electric violinist, bass player and vocalist who has stirred up our audiences with his Southern Rock and Country, and can play a variety of other genres.

Peter Love - You may know him as an actor of Ryan’s Hope and Santa Barbara, but his real passion is music. He’s played solo and with bands in so many of the clubs of LA, and the Resorts of Las Vegas.

The Phat Pack - Bruce Ewing, Ted Keegan, and Randal Keith were a large part of what made Phantom Spectacular. They continue to share their talents in Las Vegas, not only for this night, but have reopened their show at the Plaza.

Robert Nash - Bobby D… “You talkin’ to me?” You’ll think he is when he starts talkin’ to you! This night at the Foundation Room, or when he hosts Raack n Roll, the sexy late night show at The D Las Vegas.

The boys in the band have just a few ties to entertainment here in Las Vegas and across the country. It’s no wonder so many come out to play with them.

Ned Mills - Musical director and master of the keys, even playing the trumpet at the same time, not only performs in Vegas, but all over the world, in a wide variety of music that spans generations.

LJ Harness - A driving force on the drums that has played and shared the stage with so many Rock legends. His style of play is fun to watch, and has wowed crowds for decades, as seen in this video.

Mark Giovi - His amazing voice can do it all, and has formed rock bands on both coasts and toured the world as a vocal coach, before making Las Vegas home and starring in production shows and solo acts.

Keith Neal - Here’s a long time guitar guy that can play them all…even with his teeth! He’s called out to play for shows all over town and adds his vocals to the mix

James D’Arrigo - A Sax player who can do it all, and do it so well. Classic Rock, Jazz, or Classical, Jim can and has done it all. Not only is he a musician, but he’s a show producer as well.

After a meeting yesterday The #Vegas Underground has been REMOVED from the Foundation Room Lounge! Blame goes to everyone involved, from the performers to the audience!

Both LJ and Sparky attended the meeting last night hoping to resolve any issues, but there was no further discussion as far as Foundation Room manager Steve Hart was concerned.

The Vegas Underground WILL NOT return to the lounge next month.

Instead of appearing in the Foundation Room Lounge on March 21, we WILL BE appearing in the larger and reconfigured Foundation Room Dining Room, to the right as you come from the elevators!

The space both inside and on the patio will be changed to give us more room, better visibility, more seating and hi-top tables. It appears that while the stage will be able to be seen from the patio, both sound and projected video will be available outside.

So to all the entertainers and fans of our first The Vegas Underground ROCKS THE FOUNDATION, THE BLAME for this move falls on you!

ALL the performers were absolutely incredible, and the buzz is all over town!

To all our fans, and our new ones among all the Foundation Room members who came out, thanks to you for packing the house!

Plus a big thanks to Nicolas and Alice Cage for coming out to support live entertainment in Las Vegas!

So stay tuned for further announcements as the Vegas ‘Rat Pack of the Next Generation’ brings you more Classic Rock and R&B when we Rock the Foundation again on Thursday, March 21, 2013.

ROCK THE FOUNDATION a HUGE Success, THANKS to all of YOU! #VEGAS #FOUNDATIONROOM #THEVEGASUNDERGROUND

It’s not often you outgrow a room even before you do your first show, but we did it!

WHY? Because of all the incredible talent of our city, and fans that know the real magic of Las Vegas, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. The true Vegas party, with amazing performers and musicians not only taking the stage, but it’s a night out having fun with friends, old and new, and that includes the audience.

The Vegas Underground isn’t about any one person. It works because so many have become a part of it all. From those taking the stage, to others working behind the scenes to spread the word. Because of everyone involved last night at the House of Blues Foundation Room, we proved that there is a desire for what has been labeled ‘Classic Vegas’ Entertainment.

Thanks to Steve Hart and Lee Ann Groff-Daudet of the Foundation Room for the opportunity to make this night happen in such an outstanding Las Vegas Strip venue, and for realizing we’ll need a larger room when we return.

While not all of our performing members could be there to take the stage, let me say a special thanks to those that did, and please forgive me in advance if I miss anyone. It was a wild night!
